Safest Cars For 2005
Which cars are the safest based upon crash test data? The NHTSA is the foremost governmental expert on evaluating cars, trucks and SUV's for survivability and probability of injury during impacts and rollovers. They perform hundreds of crash tests annually on dozens of new models as part of their New Car Assesment Program (NCAP) and report the results on their website. Not many get their coveted 5-star rating and even fewer get that rating on all angles of crashes performed. We've listed all passenger cars, trucks and SUV's in model year 2005 that received a 5-star rating on all impact tests performed by the NHTSA this year (frontal impacts, side impacts and rollover testing). As you can see, this is a very short and exclusive list of vehicles. The NHTSA is continually performing tests on new vehicles and we are always checking to see if any new cars meet the requirements to be in this list.
